Best places to catch the foliage colors in NYC

Amber Comus said, “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower”.
I agree with him, especially when most NYC trees give us remarkable colorful foliage show during this time of the year.
And there are beautiful places around the five boroughs where you can admire the colors and enjoy.
Here are some of our picks for the best places to catch the foliage colors in NYC:

Inwood Hill Park, Manhattan

There’s old New York, and then there’s old New York. Inwood Hill Park is a living piece of old New York. Evidence of its prehistoric roots exists as dramatic caves, valleys, and ridges left as the result of shifting glaciers. Evidence of its uninhabited state afterwards remains as its forest and salt marsh (the last natural one in Manhattan), and evidence of its use by Native Americans in the 17th century continues to be discovered. The park has many mature Red Oak trees and some of the older Tulip trees in NYC.

Central Park, Manhattan

The famous Central Park is beautiful all year round. However, fall is the time to explore many less visited parts during the other seasons. The NYC parks have a foliage map that will take you to these areas in the park and help you discover the most magnificent colors.

The Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn

This historic landmark became a place which respects the people who passed away and celebrates the living. Spring, summer, or Fall is always a great time for a visit.

New York Botanical Garden, Bronx

New York Botanical Garden are a beautiful place to be all year round. However, fall is a special time when you can explore the pumpkin exhibit, walk around and relax, enjoy the pretty scenery and have a picnic.
With pay as you wish on Wednesdays, for New York residents, this is just a matter of time, really.

High Bridge Park, Manhattan

Although widely known for its important landmarks, the High bridge tower and the High Bridge, the city’s oldest standing bridge, the park offers natural beauty and recreational fun that serve as reason enough to visit. During the foliage peak, you can find some beautiful scenery worth visiting.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn

If you think this Botanic garden is in full glory during spring, wait until you visit it during fall.
Maple trees, Tulip trees, Oaks of all kinds, Cherry trees and Ginko trees give the park a unique atmosphere you cannot miss.
